Fayette McMullin was the second Washington Territorial Governor. He was a politician, coach driver, teamster, farmer, banker from Virginia and Washington State. Lafayette "Fayette" McMullin was born on May 18, 1805 in Bedford Co., VA. Fayette's father had established a successful wagon train and coach line from Bedford to Estillville (now Gate City), VA which transported passengers, mail and goods along the line.
